Wow, I can’t believe that we are already into June. With a new month comes a bunch of new books. Here are some of the new releases available this week. Which one do you want to read?

Always With Love by Giovanna Fletcher (Penguin, 2nd June 2016.) 

How excited am I to be able to revisit Rosemont Hill? Lots, that’s what. I can’t wait to catch up with Billy and Sophie in the sequel to Billy & Me. A gorgeous cover too.

Sophie’s got used to being the girlfriend of Billy Buskin, the biggest movie star in the world. Sort of. 

But when she and Billy take a trip to visit his family in Los Angeles, she quickly discovers she’s totally unprepared for the chaos of Hollywood, the paparazzi and Billy’s controlling mother.

The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison (Thomas & Mercer, 1st June 2016.) 

This cover is lovely and the plot to this novel is very intriguing.

In this garden grow luscious flowers, shady trees…and a collection of precious “butterflies”—young women who have been kidnapped and intricately tattooed to resemble their namesakes. Overseeing it all is the Gardener, a brutal, twisted man obsessed with capturing and preserving his lovely specimens.

When the garden is discovered, a survivor is brought in for questioning. FBI agents Victor Hanoverian and Brandon Eddison are tasked with piecing together one of the most stomach-churning cases of their careers. But the girl, known only as Maya, proves to be a puzzle herself.

Cross Kill by James Patterson (Bookshots, June 2016.) 

This is a book in the Alex Cross thriller series and has been released in paperback today.

The Postcard by Fern Britton (HarperCollins, 2nd June 2016.) 

I am a big fan of Fern’s novels and look forward to getting my hands on and reading this book. It sounds great and yes, the cover is lovely.

The Secret of Orchard Cottage by Alex Brown (Harper, 2nd June 2016) 

I am totally in love with the cover of this book. Even though the cover has a summer feel, the plot sounds great and this looks like a lovely read to curl up with either to escape from the rain or bask in the sunshine.

April Wilson is wondering what to do next – her life has been turned upside down after the loss of her husband so she’s hoping to piece herself together again with a visit to her elderly great aunt, Edith. Arriving in the rural idyll of Tindledale, she’s dismayed to find Edith’s cottage and the orchard behind it in a sorry state of disrepair. Edith seems to have lost interest completely, instead she’s become desperate to find out what happened to her sister, Winnie, who disappeared during WWII.
April gets to work immediately, discovering that the orchard still delivers a bumper crop each year, and with the help of some of the villagers – including Matt, the enigmatic Farrier – begins to unravel the mystery of the missing Winnie. Slowly,
April can feel things coming to life again – but can Orchard Cottage work its magic on her too?

See Me by Nicholas Sparks (Sphere, 2nd June 2016.) 

I took part in the blog tour for this book when it was released in Hardback last year and I absolutely loved it. It has been released in paperback today. I am a large fan of Nicholas Sparks and whether you are an established fan or new to Spark’s books, if you’re a fan of romance and drama,  I am sure you’ll enjoy this one.

At twenty-eight, he’s focused on getting his teaching degree and avoiding all the places and people that proved so destructive in his past. The last thing he’s looking for is a serious relationship. But when he crosses paths with Maria Sanchez one rainswept night, his carefully structured life is turned upside down. And when Maria, a hardworking lawyer, meets Colin she begins to question every notion she has ever had about herself and her future – and what truly makes her happy. 

Before the couple has a chance to envision a life together, menacing reminders from events in Maria’s past start to surface. And as the threat of violence begins to shadow her every step, she and Colin will be pushed to breaking point.

I’m Laura. I started Novel Kicks in 2009. I wanted a place to post my writing as well as give other writers like me the opportunity to do the same. There is also a monthly book club, a writing room which features writing prompts, book reviews, competitions, author interviews and guest posts.

I grew up by the sea (my favourite place in the world) and I currently live in Hampshire. I am married to Chris, have a cat named Buddy and I would love to be a writer. I’m trying to write the novel I’ve talked so much about writing if only I could stop pressing delete. I’ve loved writing since creative writing classes in primary school. I have always wanted to see my teacher Miss Sayers again and thank her for the encouragement. When not trying to write the novel or writing snippets of stories on anything I can get my hands on, I love reading, dancing like a loon and singing to myself very badly. My current obsession is Once Upon a Time and I would be happy to live with magic in the enchanted forest surrounded by all those wonderful stories provided that world also included Harry Potter. I love reading chick lit. contemporary fiction and novels with mystery.
