I’m so pleased to be welcoming Shari Low back to Novel Kicks and the blog tour for her latest book, One Day and Forever.
As dawn breaks, four people are planning journeys that could change their lives forever…
Kara McIntyre is supposed to be jetting off to her destination wedding in Hawaii. However, a last-minute hitch appears to have left her without a job, home and, more importantly, a fiancé.
TV sensation Ollie Chiles and Kara always have each other’s backs. But when his wife goes viral in a compromising clinch with another man, Ollie must choose between supporting his best friend in her hour of need or going home to save his marriage.
Alice Brookes is flying away to a new life after surviving a horrendous marriage and a very public scandal… until a stranger brings a letter from the past that could change everything.
After saying goodbye to someone he loves, Zac Conlan should be heading back to Dublin. Now a shocking discovery is threatening to change his plans and his future.
When weather delays their flights, Kara, Ollie, Alice and Zac discover that storms are brewing… and the turbulence is about to shake their worlds.

Kara is about to marry Josh. However, when something happens at a work event and she loses her job, it shows her that her relationship may not be as strong as she thought.
Alice, with the help of her friend Val, only sees good in her life after escaping her abusive husband. However, when she tries to reconnect with an old friend, secrets from the past begin to emerge.
Ollie’s life changed when he became a successful actor but one thing that’s remained the same is his friendship with Kara. However, his wife Sienna isn’t Kara’s biggest fan. When his life begins to fall apart, he has to make a choice.
Zac is still reeling from the loss of his mother and is now having to face his auntie’s funeral. When he finds an old card and some photos in some old things belonging to his mother, more questions arise.
I have enjoyed previous novels from Shari Low and was excited to be invited onto the blog tour for her latest book, One Day and Forever.
Shari makes a note at the beginning of the book that this can be read as a standalone. There are characters from previous novels who make an appearance – Alice and Val. I loved these ladies immediately. Val is a huge force of nature and someone I definitely would want on my side. Alice is so much stronger than she thinks and I loved seeing this in action throughout the novel.
Kara is also someone you want in your corner. I just wanted to give Ollie and Zac a hug. Shari Low is so great at creating relatable characters that you root for from start to end. I don’t think there was one main character I didn’t feel attached to.
Told from the point of view of all four characters, the narrative does time jump a little but it’s easy to keep up and at no point in the story did I feel the story was slow.
I got really sucked in to the plot and was intrigued to know how they all connected.
This book is full of drama but also has a great humour through it. There were some lines that had me laughing out loud. It does deal with some hard themes but these are handled with care.
OK, no more as I don’t want to spoil it.
One Day and Forever is a story that reminds us to take in every moment and that family and friends and having the right people around you is one of the most important things in life. It also tells us that, even when you feel that your life is falling apart, it could lead to something even better.
Shari Low is a fantastic author and I adored this story. I look forward to what comes next.
