I’m delighted to be welcoming Diana Wilkinson back to Novel Kicks and the blog tour for her book, The Girl in the Window.
I know their secrets…
Every morning, I sit at the same table of my favourite café, sip my cappuccino, and watch them.
The woman has no idea I’m watching, day after day, unravelling the secrets of her life. I see the way she smiles when he arrives, how she glances over her shoulder… like someone who is hiding something.
She thinks she’s in control, but has no idea I’m on to them…
I know a lot more about the man. For a start, he’s not who he pretends to be – his lies are as plain as the nose on your face.
There’s more to this story than meets the eye, a lot more than I’ll ever let on. I already know a lot about the man, but have learnt so much more from watching.
Why do I think the man should tell me what’s going on?
Because he’s my husband. That’s why.
An unforgettable tale of deceit, lies and revenge, from the bestselling author of The Girl in Seat 2A.
*****
Izzy sits at the same cafe window every morning, watching the woman across the street. A woman she’s never met. She doesn’t even know her name but they are very much connected.
Having read One Down and The Girl in 2A, I was thrilled to be part of the blog tour for the latest novel by Diana Wilkinson.
This book doesn’t take long to raise suspense and tension. The plot simmers well right until the very end. The story unfolds well and it’s what I’ve come to expect from this author. She’s very good at creating discord between the characters and through the plot. Just what you need for a good psychological thriller.
It raises many questions that has you reading, not realising how much time as passed.
I couldn’t quite make my mind up about Izzy. She’s a very interesting main character that’s for sure.
The supporting cast are equally as engaging and will have you wondering whether you can like them or trust them.
In the hope that I don’t give too much away, this novel almost felt like there could be a sequel. I’m hoping so anyway. There were a couple of questions that for me weren’t answered. And I need to know. Haha.
I’m not going to say much more as I don’t want to spoil this great book for everyone else.
If you’re looking for a compelling puzzle and a narrative that will have you guessing until the end, The Girl in the Window is perfect. I enjoyed it.
