Sometimes we need to make time for our life.
Lucy Silchester is taking her life for granted. She’s busied herself with other stuff – friends, work and her car (which is on it’s last legs.)
It’s time for a wake up call.
Only Lucy knows the truth and she’s deluding everyone else.
It’s time for a meeting with her life. It turns out that Lucy’s life is a kind but rather rundown man in an old suit who is determined to bring about change and not to let Lucy off the hook.
I’m a fan of Cecelia Ahern. I like the mix of reality and fantasy; how Cecelia takes the ordinary and adds a little magic.
This book had me hooked from beginning to end. It was funny, charming and the plot was paced well. I found the dynamic between Lucy and her life interesting. A man and a woman having a relationship (with it’s ups and downs) but there is no romantic attachment.
I like the idea that you could actually meet your life. It had me wondering what my life would have to say about me if I were to meet it in person. What would my life look like?
Lucy was a likeable, believable character to me. Not wanting to face up to things is relatable, to me anyway.
There is a good supporting cast of characters and I wanted to hug Lucy’s next door neighbour. I even began to like her family by the end of the story.
A great book to read in the garden on a lovely (cough) summer day.
