This Week’s Latest Releases

It’s Thursday which means another batch of new books. I love this time of the week. Here’s just a selection of new releases. Are there any new books you’re looking forward to reading?

Half Lost by Sally Green (Penguin, 31st March 2016.)

I’ve made no secret of the fact that I love this book series. Half Lost is the last in the Half Bad trilogy and I am anxious and excited to know what becomes of Nathan who I see as a very relatable character. If you’re a fan of Red Queen, then you’ll love the Half Bad series. I’d say you’ll need to have read the first two books though before starting this one…

One Stary Night by Tilly Tennant. (31st March 2016 on Kindle)

For fans of Tilly Tennant or for people new to her books, this is book four of the Once Upon a Winter series. This cover is so Christmassy. I love it.

They say the darkest hour is just before dawn, and for the first time Hannah is starting to truly understand what that means. With Gina’s husband misbehaving, Ross under attack, and bad news for Mitchell that only Hannah can tell him, things seem to be falling apart around her. The Girl Who Walked in the Shadows by Marnie Riches (Maze, 31st March 2016.)

This book sounds very intriguing. I do like a good mystery.

Europe is in the grip of an extreme Arctic blast and at the mercy of a killer, who leaves no trace. His weapons of choice are razor-sharp icicles. This is Jack Frost.

In the Light of What We See by Sarah Painter (Lake Union Publishing, 1st April 2016.)

The latest book by Sarah Painter is due for release tomorrow (we’ll be reviewing it.) I think this is one of my favourite book covers this week. I adored The Language of Spells so I look forward to reading In the Light of What We See.

Sleep Sister by Laura Elliot (Bookouture, 31st March 2016.)

Again, this sounds like an intriguing story. I’ve not read any of Laura’s novels but I will certainly pick this one up at some point. This was previously published as When the Bough Breaks and is an extended version.

Two childhoods destroyed. One story they will never tell. Until now.

Beth ran away from her family when she was a teenager. She left behind a terrible evil that took her innocence. She also left behind her sister, Sara.

I’m Laura. I started Novel Kicks in 2009. I wanted a place to post my writing as well as give other writers like me the opportunity to do the same. There is also a monthly book club, a writing room which features writing prompts, book reviews, competitions, author interviews and guest posts.

I grew up by the sea (my favourite place in the world) and I currently live in Hampshire. I am married to Chris, have a cat named Buddy and I would love to be a writer. I’m trying to write the novel I’ve talked so much about writing if only I could stop pressing delete. I’ve loved writing since creative writing classes in primary school. I have always wanted to see my teacher Miss Sayers again and thank her for the encouragement. When not trying to write the novel or writing snippets of stories on anything I can get my hands on, I love reading, dancing like a loon and singing to myself very badly. My current obsession is Once Upon a Time and I would be happy to live with magic in the enchanted forest surrounded by all those wonderful stories provided that world also included Harry Potter. I love reading chick lit. contemporary fiction and novels with mystery.
